Noteworthy:

● Meza, the 18-year-old from Houston, earned his third career CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Series pole Saturday, and Sunday drove to his fifth victory in six races this season, and sixth in seven career starts in the series. He took the checkered flag 2.701 seconds ahead of teammate Alon Day. It was the third time in the last four races they finished 1-2, dating back to both ends of the weekend doubleheader April 25-26 at Sonoma (Calif.) Raceway.

● Day, the 34-year-old from Ashdod, Israel, came into the weekend off his first TA2 Series pole and victory in his fifth career start May 23 at Lime Rock Park in Lakeville, Connecticut. Today marked Day’s fifth consecutive podium finish. His Lime Rock victory and back-to-back runner-up finishes at Sonoma were preceded by a third-place finish March 14 at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.

● Buice, the 19-year-old from Jackson, Georgia, returned to action this weekend after missing the Lime Rock round due to injury. She qualified ninth and was running eighth when, on the first restart of the race on lap 19, she had to drive into the grass in turn one to avoid a spinning racecar, costing her eight positions. She rallied from there for her second top-10 in five career TA2 Series starts..

● Olkhovskyi, the 39-year-old Ukraine native, made his second TA2 Series start of the season and the fourth of his career, all in the Pro-Am Challenge class. He qualified 30th overall and 12th in class on Saturday, and drove his way to an 18th-place finish overall and fifth in class.

● Meza’s victory Sunday was the 13th in a row for TeamSLR, dating back to 15-year-old Tristan McKee’s triumph at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington last June en route to the 2025 TA2 Series championship.

● Carroll, a regular on the CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Series Western Championship, made a rare appearance this weekend as a national Pro-Am Challenge entrant in his No. 46 CRD MFT M1 Racecars Chevrolet Camaro. He qualified on the pole and fought for the class win in the closing laps en route to his runner-up finish.

● Odrick, the 2025 TA2 Series Pro-Am Challenge champion, saw his three-race class win streak come to an abrupt end with a mechanical issue just three laps into the race in his No. 00 Black Underwear/Helium Mobile Chevrolet Camaro for Troy Benner Autosport.

Helio Meza, Driver, No. 28 Alessandros Racing/Chevrolet/SLR-M1 Racecars Camaro:

“It’s so good to be on the top step of the podium. Alon took my crown at Lime Rock, and I’m glad to have it back. But, all in all, Alon was super fast all weekend and we keep continuing on that – testing, practice, qualifying, and super close again in the final test today. Coming here to Indy, I was determined, I was motivated. And I couldn’t do this without my amazing team. They worked their butts off. I cannot explain enough how they’re always the first ones to the track, the last ones to leave, and that’s my type of team. So I can’t thank my crew guys enough. And to my dad, Happy Father’s Day, to him and to all the fathers out there. And thanks tto Chevrolet, Alessandros Racing, all my sponsors. My mom came out here to watch with my brothers. There are a lot of people that make this possible. It’s not me, but everyone around me.”

Alon Day, Driver, No. 17 JSSI/SLR-M1 Racecars Chevrolet Camaro:

“I wish it was a bit different, but Helio did an amazing job. Yeah, second place is the first loser, right? I tried my best, I pushed him as hard as I could, but he survived that. Congratulations to him and all of TeamSLR. I think that the fact we’re getting the finishes we are, it’s not typical, and it shows how hard the people at TeamSLR are working to bring those results consistently. We’re working super hard – first to be at the track, last to leave the track. I’m thankful for those guys who work so hard to bring me such a good car and being able to fight for the victory. I wish today would have ended in a better way, in first place, but it is what it is. I will try my best at Road America, which is a track that I’ve already been to, so it’s going to be nice to go back. I think I’m going to spend some time in Chicago on the way and see the people of JSSI, my sponsor who is based there. Without them I wouldn’t even be here, so it would be nice to say hello to the people I’ve been working with very closely.”

Lanie Buice, Driver, No. 27 Sunoco/Guthrie’s Garage/SLR-M1 Racecars Chevrolet Camaro:

“I feel pretty good about the progress we made throughout the race. Unfortunately, didn’t start really where I wanted to. Qualifying just wasn’t the best attempt for us. I tried something different than I usually would and I probably should’ve just stuck with what I knew in qualifying. That way we could’ve started a little bit better and just had better track position to start off. Otherwise, really grateful for the whole TeamSLR program and the opportunity to race with them every single weekend that I get to run. I feel like I learned a ton throughout the race. We were sitting in eighth before that first restart and somebody spun out in front of me and I had to miss them and I fell back to 16th. So then I had to fight back and find a really good groove to try and pass some cars back. We had really good top-five race pace speed, just didn’t have a track position to go with it. But I’m excited for Road America next weekend. We’ll see what we can do there.”

Naz Olkhovskyi, Driver, No. 18 Stand With Ukraine/SLR-M1 Racecars Chevrolet Camaro:

“The goal was to take it easy, and that’s what we did. We had a clean start, then I started to pick up positions one after another, and the car felt great. I cannot thank Fisherman Construction, TeamSLR, M1 Racecars and everybody on the team for making this happen. I had a few issues at the end of the race where I couldn’t catch people anymore, including a tire that went down with three laps to go, so I finished the race on three wheels, basically. This is a very special place, which made it a surreal experience. I’m so glad I did it.”
