Sam Mayer, Driver No. 8, TeamSLR:

“I had a lot of fun out on the West Coast this week between last week’s ProAm race at Sonoma and today’s race here at Laguna Seca. Coming home with a win at Sonoma and a top-five today is really cool. I cannot thank M1 Racecars, TeamSLR and Fields Racing enough for all their work. We have some work to do here at Laguna Seca. We were tight all weekend long. We figured it out for qualifying, but the tight conditions came back during the race. I had a ton of fun running this weekend and I cannot wait to get back in the car at my home track of Road America.”

Connor Mosack, Driver No. 28, TeamSLR:

“We started sixth and I felt like we had a third-place car once we took the green. I was just riding in fourth and knew I was faster than the car in front of me. On a restart, I was run off the track after racing side-by-side for position coming off of turn two. I tried to make the pass again in the Corkscrew and ended up locking the tires up. It was good to see that our Nic Tailor/IFS M1-SLR Camaro had really good speed to run with the front guys, especially at the end of the race. We’ll take that speed with us to Lime Rock.”
